Shakespeare-in-the-Park 2021: Summer of Sonnets 

This summer, Repercussion Theatre returns to Montreal parks with a Summer of Sonnets, a special edition of Shakespeare-in-the-Park including pop-up performances, livestreams, workshops, and sonnet videos.

This year’s Shakespeare-in-the-Park — like so many things — is a bit different than usual. In order to be able to offer audiences as many options as possible (within the various health restrictions) we put together a variety of offerings, including a live pop-up show, as well as online workshops and filmed sonnets. We are calling this summer, and the whole collection of activities, our Summer of Sonnets.

The live portion of our tour is now over, but you can read about the artists involved and the sonnets they performed below. And this round of workshops is complete, but we had so much fun we will surely plan for more in the future. (Some of that info is also below, for posterity.)

Summer of Sonnets: Workshops + ateliers

Tuesday August 10, 1-2 pm: “Write your Own Sonnet” / Mardi le 10 août, 13h à 14h, “Écrire votre propre sonnet”

• • Interested in learning more about the sonnet form and writing your own? In this workshop we’ll guide you through understanding the English sonnet form and give you the tools you need to write your own. All ages can join in on this special and free Zoom workshop as part of Repercussion’s “Summer of Sonnets” offerings.
