Shanti Ikwe Gonzales is an Indian-Mexican-American theatremaker based in Montreal. She was a director in the 2018 Artist Mentorship Ensemble at Black Theatre Workshop and a member of the Young Creators Unit at Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal.
Directing credits include: for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow isnt enuf (associate director, Les 6 Productions); An Iliad (co-director, Chocolate Moose Theatre); How I Learned to Drive (McGill Director’s Projects); The Vibrator Play (Moyse Hall Theatre). Performance credits include: love painted brown (angrybrowngirl productions), The Refugee Hotel (Teesri Duniya Theatre), and Bright Half Life (Brave New Productions). Shanti is Artistic Associate at Repercussion Theatre and a children’s musician with Monkey Rock Music.
